Suzanne Scale

Suzanne Scale Performing Arts is a renowned performing arts school based in Cardiff, established in 2005. Our school offers a range of classes in Drama, Singing, and Dance for children aged 3 - 16, and we have recently expanded our offerings to include classes for ages 16-25. Our mission is to provide high-quality tuition and performance experience, enabling our students to become confident and happy individuals while providing opportunities for those with a budding interest in the performing arts.

Our Staff

Our school is proud to have a team of experienced and qualified teachers. Our Director, Suzanne Scale, is a qualified teacher in Drama and the Performing Arts. She has danced since the age of 6 and has had training in various dance styles, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, HipHop/Street. Suzanne is also a classically trained Mezzo-Soprano and an accomplished performer. She has been teaching for nearly 20 years and has extensive experience as a dancer and choreographer.

Sarah Broad is our Assistant Manager and Drama and Dance Teacher. She began as a pupil at the school and has worked her way up to her current position. Sarah is a graduate of Cardiff University and has a successful career as a teacher of Drama and Dance. She also runs her own cheerleading and dance troupe in Cardiff.

Jo Herco-Thomas is our Singing and Musical Director. She is an experienced Musical Director and vocal coach. Jo has conducted male voice choirs and musically directed many shows over 20 years. She has extensive experience in the performing arts world and holds a Royal Welsh College Music Graduate degree.

Joshua Jones is our Academy Tutor. He holds a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Joshua has extensive experience in the performing arts world and is a valuable addition to our team.

Cerys Ford is one of our Assistant Teachers. She is a graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University and is currently completing her English and Drama degree. Cerys has extensive experience in the performing arts world and is passionate about taking her enthusiasm for the arts into Secondary schools.

Our Classes

We offer a range of classes for different age groups and skill levels. Our Early Performers class is for ages 3-6 and is a fun weekly hour-long class that includes a mixture of drama, singing, and dance. Our Youth Theatre is for ages 6-16 and is a three-hour Theatre School every Saturday that includes large musical productions and LAMDA exam opportunities. Our Academy class starts in September 2023 and is a new class for older theatre students that focuses on high-quality masterclasses from various professional artists from the theatre/drama/circus/drama world. Our school is also a LAMDA centre, and we offer LAMDA exams every 18 months.
