Location and Surroundings
Our guest house is situated in Dubwath at the head of Bassenthwaite Lake, with the lake shore just a short stroll away. Between April and September, you may even be lucky enough to spot the rare Ospreys that nest near the lake. Keswick and Cockermouth are a scenic 10-minute drive in opposite directions from Lakeside Country Guest House. Both towns offer a variety of shops, restaurants, and historical sites to explore.
The area surrounding Lakeside Country Guest House offers superb walking opportunities. Skiddaw, Sale Fell, Binsey, and Dodd Wood are all within a 5-10 minute drive, and there are pleasant walks from the door to the lake shore or to Dubwath Meadows, a nature reserve with board walks and bird hides. Dodd Wood has a small tearoom and signed walks through the forest to the summit viewpoint, where you can enjoy a stunning vista across Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater.
