Key Information

Our school has an admission limit of 30 pupils per class from Reception to Year 6. Parents and carers who wish to apply for a school place can contact the school directly or apply through the Durham County Council's School Admissions team. We are committed to meeting the needs of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We work closely with the Local Authority and other agencies to ensure that all children's needs are met appropriately.

We are committed to providing an inclusive education for all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our SEND Information Report provides information on how we identify, assess, and support children with special educational needs. We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) who works closely with the school leadership team, teachers, and parents to ensure that every child receives the support that they need.

Pastoral, Medical, and Social Support

We are committed to providing pastoral, medical, and social support for all children. We have a dedicated Pastoral, Medical, and Social Support team who work closely with teachers and parents to ensure that every child's needs are met. We provide a range of support, including counselling, medical support, and social skills development.

How do we consult with our SEN pupils?

We believe that it is essential to consult with our SEN pupils to ensure that their voices are heard, and that their needs are met. We do this through regular meetings with the SENCO, through pupil voice surveys, and by involving them in the development of their Individual Education Plans.

Additional Help

We are committed to providing additional help for children who need it. We provide a range of support, including small group intervention, one-to-one support, and access to specialist resources and equipment.

SEN Transition

We provide a comprehensive SEN transition programme to ensure that children with special educational needs have a smooth and successful transition to Silver Tree Primary School and Nursery. We work closely with parents and other schools to ensure that we have a full understanding of each child's needs.
