Our Location

The Priory Burford is situated in the heart of Burford, a picturesque town in Oxfordshire. Our location on the main street offers views over the countryside and gently slopes down to the river Windrush. The street is lined with ancient cottages, old houses, inns, and shops that have remained largely unchanged since Tudor times. Burford was the site of a fortified fort in Anglo-Saxon times and the magnificent parish church of St. John Baptist is situated just around the corner from the Priory.

The town has a rich history, and visitors can explore many walks in Burford and surrounding villages that we can recommend. Some of the popular nearby destinations include Moreton-in-Marsh, Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, and nearby villages Upper Slaughter and Lower Slaughter. Burford also has free parking, and visitors can park on the main high street, Priory Lane, Church Lane or the main car park, which is a 5-minute walk from the Priory.
