As a member of the Early Years Alliance and a registered charity, we are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for children between the ages of 2 and school age. Our aim is to deliver consistent high-quality care and education, working in partnership with parents to support every child's individual needs and development. Our vision is to celebrate each child's uniqueness and individuality, encouraging creativity, imagination, and exploration in a friendly, fun, and welcoming environment.

Our Mission and Aims

As a non-profit making organization, we are committed to providing a secure foundation for learning and development, enabling children to give their best in life. We believe that every child is special and has the potential to make a difference. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that fosters self-esteem, confidence, and a love of learning, guided by the principles of respect, teamwork, and equality. Our staff work closely with parents to ensure that every child's needs are met, and that they receive the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential.

Our Services

At The Little Acorns Pre-School, we offer a range of services designed to support the development and well-being of our children. Our sessions run from 9:15 am to 12:15 pm, Monday to Friday, during standard school terms. We also offer afternoon sessions on Monday and Friday, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Our trained staff provide a free-flow play environment, enabling children to explore, learn, and have fun. Our outdoor play area is secure and fully fenced, providing a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.

Special Educational Needs

As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we recognize the importance of supporting children with special educational needs. Our SEND session, Stargazers, is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for children with special needs to learn and develop. Our Local Offer provides more information on our SEND policy and procedures.

Training and Development

Our staff are committed to ongoing training and professional development, ensuring that we remain up-to-date with the latest best practices and research in early years care and education. We believe that ongoing training and development are essential to providing a high-quality service for our children and families.

Settling In

We recognize that settling into a new environment can be challenging for some children. To support this process, we work closely with parents to develop a settling-in plan that meets the individual needs of each child. Our settling-in procedure is guided by our Settling In Pre-school policy, available for parents to review.

Other Services

We provide a range of additional services to support the well-being and development of our children. These include:

  • A snack bar open one hour a day, providing healthy snacks and opportunities for socialization
  • A Rising Stars session and lunch club for children moving on to school
  • A range of policies and procedures designed to ensure the well-being and safety of our children and staff
