The History of the White Hart
The White Hart has a long and rich history, dating back to the reign of William and Mary in the late 17th century. The inn was first recorded in Fore Street, before being relocated to its current location in Church Street. In 1769, the building was transformed into a townhouse for Mr Charles Rashleigh, a prominent gentleman of the town and the founder of Charlestown. In the early 1820s, the inn was converted into its current use, and in 1911, it became part of the St Austell Brewery estate.
