Kids Count is a family-run childcare facility located in the heart of Hartford, open from 8am to 6pm. Established in 1994, we have been providing excellent childcare services to local families for over two decades, tailoring our services to meet the ever-evolving needs of children aged 0-14 and the demanding lives of their parents. Little Kids Count Nursery: A Nurturing Environment for Your Child's Growth
Our Little Kids Count Nursery is an all-inclusive experience, catering to the needs of your child and your family. We offer part-time and full-time childcare, and all nappies, wipes, meals, formula milk, and weaning foods are provided at no extra cost. All you need to bring is your child, appropriate outdoor clothing, and a spare change of clothes in a named bag. Our Little Kids Count Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and our team of qualified and experienced staff meticulously plan pre-school education, delivered through play.
Big Kids Count Club: Before and After School Care with a Difference
Big Kids Count Club operates both as a before and after school club and a holiday club, providing care for children aged four to fourteen years old. With an adult-to-child ratio of 1:8 for the under eights, we ensure that each child receives individualised care and attention. We offer a variety of activities, including art projects, outdoor play, board games, and a quiet space for relaxation. Our goal is to create an environment that replicates the kind of holidays we had as children, filled with exploration, creativity, and bonding experiences.

Overwhelmingly Mixed Experience
Despite a few glowing reviews, the overall experience at Kids Count seems to be marred by poor management. Staff-Friendly Environment is a recurring theme, with several reviewers praising the kind and caring nature of the staff. In particular, Long-Standing Staff is highlighted, with Angela Wright noting that many staff members have worked at the centre for years. Mark Hudson also commended the staff for being friendly, attentive, and willing to discuss any concerns or issues.
However, Management Issue is a significant problem, as Gareth Burton's 1-star review reveals. He found the management to be miserable, leading him to actively avoid the centre. Lack of Effective Leadership seems to be a major concern, causing tension and negative experiences for some parents.
