Located near the world famous Loch Lomond, Windyhill Golf Club is nestled at the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills, near Bearsden, and presents an enjoyable, challenging but worthwhile golfing experience to players of all levels. With magnificent views over the City of Glasgow to the Cathkin Braes to the south and the Gleniffer Braes on the south-west of the River Clyde, Windyhill provides a vista few other clubs can equal.
Our History
Founded in 1908, Windyhill Golf Club was originally a 9-hole course before being extended to 18-holes in Spring 1910. The opening of the 18-hole course was celebrated with an Exhibition Match between four famous golfers of the time. Our course was designed by 5 times Open Champion James Braid in 1924, and has since evolved to become renowned for the high quality of its greens, the well-presented standard of its fairways and the friendliness of its members.

Condition of the Courses
The condition of the courses has been a major concern for many reviewers. Neal B. noted that the driving range is in terrible condition, with no grass on the so-called grass teeing areas, but instead, dirt that is not being leveled or maintained. Chad Trammell mentioned that the greens are aerated right now, with 80% of the greens being sand and divots. Aladorslab also mentioned that parts of the course are slowly getting worse, with puddles of water building up around drains that aren't kept clear.
Lessons and Instruction
On the other hand, some reviewers have had positive experiences with the lessons and instruction offered at the golf course. Clyde Campbell signed up for a series of lessons with Nichole and reported that he has already seen a significant improvement in his gameplay after just one lesson. David Holsapple also praised the lessons, stating that they are doing amazing things for kids and people of all skill levels.
Events and Atmosphere
Carolyn Ogrosky brought a group of children for a birthday party and reported that the staff was kind and the kids loved the go-karts and party room. Yuxin Zhou praised the beautiful courses and driving ranges, as well as the friendly staff. Lee Burnette mentioned that new ownership has brought many improvements, including upgrades to the golf courses, pro shop, snack bar, and outside seating area.
