For the love of food, wine, ambiance and cafe culture.

Located in the heart of West Hampstead, The Wet Fish Cafe is a labour of love that combines our passion for food, wine, ambiance, and cafe culture. Our story began in 2002, when we stumbled upon a hidden gem of a former fishmonger's shop on West End Lane. The beautiful Art Deco tiles that adorned the walls told a story of their own, waiting to be rediscovered.

Our Story

As we ventured further, we uncovered the rich history of the space, which had been a classic 'wet fish shop' since the early 1900s. The more we learned, the more we knew that we had to bring back the original character of the space. And so, our journey began.

Our Approach

At The Wet Fish Cafe, we believe that a great neighbourhood deserves a cafe that's like a good friend - always there to provide a warm welcome and a delicious meal. We're passionate about using only the freshest ingredients, sourced from local suppliers whenever possible. Our menu is designed to be accessible yet imaginative, with a focus on seasonal produce and creative cooking techniques.

Music and Events

Music is an integral part of our cafe culture, and we're proud to host intimate concerts by exceptional artists. Our Art Deco walls serve as the perfect backdrop for exhibitions featuring local artists.
