Welcome to the Hurtwood Inn, a family-run Bar, Restaurant and Hotel located in the beautiful village of Peaslake, in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Our story began in 1920, when the inn was first built, and since then, we have evolved to become a beloved hub for locals and visitors alike.
Our Story
Our Managing Director, Matt Morris, has a passion for the outdoors and a love for the Surrey Hills. Having had a successful career in Formula 1 racing, Matt moved back to the UK from Switzerland in 2013, drawn to the area for its stunning natural beauty and rich history. He, along with his wife Eileen, took over the inn in 2019, with the aim of creating a unique experience for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Our menu features a variety of delicious dishes, from traditional English fare to Italian-inspired cuisine. We also boast an impressive selection of local craft beers and world wines.

Our horsebox is available for private hire, perfect for special occasions or corporate events. With comfortable seating for up to 12 people, it's an ideal setting for a relaxed gathering or celebration.

Our 15 boutique bedrooms offer the perfect retreat after a day exploring the Surrey Hills. Each room is tastefully decorated and equipped with all the modern amenities you'd expect.
