Urchin Studios

Urchin Studios was founded in 2007 by engineer/producer duo Matt Ingram and Dan Cox, who identified a need for purpose-built creative spaces tailored to musicians and producers. Originally based in Limehouse, our first studio quickly became a hub for emerging and established artists, including Mercury Award-nominated acts and major label artists. In 2012, we relocated to Hackney Wick's creative district, expanding our facilities to include three distinct studios and eight production rooms. Our studios combine natural light, high-end equipment, and a relaxed atmosphere to foster creativity across genres. Our engineering team brings decades of collective experience, having worked with artists such as Florence and the Machine, FKA Twigs, and Laura Marling.

We offer comprehensive services including recording, mixing, mastering, and podcast production, with flexible hire options for both short-term sessions and long-term residencies. In 2023, we were shortlisted for MPG Studio of the Year for the third time, reflecting our commitment to excellence. We prioritise accessibility through transparent pricing, equipment tailored to diverse musical needs, and expert guidance from our in-house engineers. Our location near Hackney Wick station provides convenient access for London-based creatives, complemented by bicycle storage and nearby parking options. We remain dedicated to supporting music creators at every stage of their journey, from independent artists to international acts.
