Moroccan Encaustic Tile Company is a family-run business with a passion for sharing the beauty of Moroccan encaustic tiles with the world. Our journey began in the late 1960s when my father built his first house in Morocco and installed encaustic tiles in every room. He also used them in the hallway, on the patios, and on the roof to prevent rain from seeping through. These same tiles, which I remember as a child, are still vibrant and fabulous to this day!
The popularity of Moroccan encaustic tiles has soared in recent years, prompting us to establish our own workshop in Marrakech and share our love for these exquisite tiles with the world. Hence, the Moroccan Encaustic Tile Company was created.
Our Workshop
Our workshop is located in Marrakech, Morocco, and is run by local artisans who have learned traditional methods from their fathers. Our handmade Moroccan encaustic tiles are produced using the same techniques as they were decades ago, ensuring exceptional quality. We take pride in stating that we have one of the largest stocks of encaustic tiles in the UK, stored in our warehouse in Marrakech.
Custom Designs
Whether you choose a patchwork design or a repeat carpet design with a border, we can create the look and colors you want. Bespoke designs can be made in our workshop in Marrakech to suit your home and decor. Minimum square meterage applies. The turnaround time is approximately 3-4 weeks or less, pending production (price on application). Delivery to all UK mainland postcodes is 65 + VAT per pallet, or free collection from our warehouse in Bristol.
Quality and Sustainability
Moroccan encaustic tiles are extremely hard-wearing and environmentally friendly. Unlike other types of tiles, encaustic tiles are not fired in a kiln but dried in the sun. With the correct sealer and maintenance, Moroccan tiles can be used in gardens. Encaustic tiles are not just beautiful but also sustainable and can be reused in future decorative projects.
