Our Story
Constance Grant Dance Centre was established in 1925 by the late Constance Grant and her husband Harry Silvester. We are a family-run, friendly and inclusive dance school offering a variety of dance classes for children aged 18 months to 18 years and adult social classes. Our dance centre has a rich history and a reputation for high-quality teaching and coaching, with many students going on to have successful careers in professional theatre, dance teaching, and achieving their own personal goals.
Our Services
At Constance Grant Dance Centre, we offer a range of dance classes for children and adults, including Ballet, Tap, Mini Street, Street Dance, Lyrical Contemporary, Modern Jazz, and Acro. Our highly qualified teachers provide a fun and friendly environment for our students to learn and grow. We also host regular dance shows, including our biannual performance at The Sheffield City Hall, and offer the opportunity to take professional qualifications within the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). Additionally, we offer children's parties and room hire services, making us the perfect venue for your special occasion.
Our Team
Our team is led by Tracey Southern, Principal and IDTA Senior Examiner, and Jessica Spick, Dance Centre Manager. Our staff hold DBS, Safe guarding, and Fist Aid certificates, ensuring the highest level of care and safety for our students. We are proud of our family-run business and our commitment to providing high-standard dance classes in a fun and friendly environment.
Our Legacy
The Constance Grant Dance Centre has a long history of providing high-quality dance education and has received several awards and recognition for our services. In 2000, we received the House of Commons Award in recognition of 75 years of service to the community. We are proud of our heritage and continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.
