Who We Are

Thorney Island Nursery Play, nestled within the serene surroundings of Baker Barracks in Thorney Island, has been a trusted childcare provider for over 30 years. Founded in 1987, we transitioned into a committee-run nursery in 2004, dedicated to fostering the holistic development of young minds and nurturing creativity and curiosity.

Our Philosophy

Our curriculum is underpinned by the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework, emphasizing inquiry-led play, exploration, and discovery. We believe in creating a stimulating and safe environment where children can reach their full potential. Our dedicated staff are passionate about nurturing young minds and providing individual attention to each child's needs.

Our Services

Our comprehensive services include:

• Care for babies and toddlers: From cozy cribs to a nurturing outdoor area, we provide a secure and stimulating environment for our youngest learners.
• Preschool program: Your child will embark on a journey of discovery through play-based learning, exploring arts and crafts, dramatic play, and outdoor adventures.
• Breakfast and after-school care: We offer a seamless transition between home and school, ensuring your child's safety and well-being.
• 15 and 30 hours of government-funded childcare: We are proud to be part of the new scheme providing additional support for working families with young children.
