Biomechanics
Biomechanics is the study of the mechanics of living organisms. As a chiropodist and podiatrist, we use biomechanics to diagnose problems associated with movement, such as an abnormal walking pattern in a child or adult, or a sporting dysfunction in an active person. We may then prescribe or manufacture a special insole, also known as an orthotic, to alter the walking or running pattern of the person wearing the insole.
