Expertly Baked Since 1930 - Where Tradition Meets Excellence

For over 90 years, Malcolm Barnecutts has been a staple in the Cornish community, offering a wide range of delicious baked goods that have become beloved by locals and tourists alike. Our business is built on a rich history of baking expertise, passed down through four generations of the Barnecutt family.

Our Famous Pasties and Beyond

At Malcolm Barnecutts, we take pride in our famous pasties, which are made fresh daily at our production units in Bodmin and distributed to our shops and wholesale customers. But our offerings go far beyond pasties. Our customers can choose from a variety of doughnuts, bread, cakes, and other treats, all made with the same care and attention to quality that has defined our business for decades.

Growing and Expanding

With 12 shops in Cornwall, 1 in Plymouth, and another shop currently being built in Wadebridge, Malcolm Barnecutts continues to grow and expand. We owe our success to the talent and dedication of our workforce and the loyalty of our customers, both local and from further afield. We are excited to continue growing and sharing our baked goods with even more people in the future.

Our Humble Beginnings

Malcolm Barnecutts' story began in 1930 when Percy Barnecutt founded the first Barnecutt bakery in Liskeard. Percy also owned and ran a bakery in Bugle, before opening a shop and bakers in Trebetherick, known today as Rock Bakery. Percy's son, Keith, opened a bakery in Padstow in the early 50s, and more shops soon followed in Wadebridge, St Columb, and Newquay. The main bakery moved to Egloshayle Road, Wadebridge, in the late 50s before moving to Polmorla Road.

Customer Reviews

Our customers rave about our pasties, calling them "the best pasty in the entire world" and "on another level to everything else." They also praise our doughnuts, saying that they are "incredible" and "worth the trip." Our shops are known for being "crammed with filling" and "full of meat, " and our staff is described as "lovely" and "friendly."

Our Bakeries

Each of our bakeries is unique and has its own charm. From the Old Guild Hall shop in Bodmin to the Rock Bakery in Trebetherick, our customers can experience the rich history and tradition of Malcolm Barnecutts in every location. We take pride in the cleanliness and friendliness of our bakeries and strive to create a welcoming environment for all.
