Pettigrew Bakeries, one of Cardiff's most cherished artisan bakeries, is proud to celebrate its 8th anniversary in 2024. Since our humble beginnings in Victoria Park, we have grown from strength to strength, expanding to three locations across the city, supplying local farmers markets, and operating as a wholesale supplier to some of Cardiff's finest independent cafes and restaurants.
Our founder, David Le Masurier, a seasoned hospitality professional with a long-standing desire to open his own tearoom, started Pettigrew Tearooms in 2012. This well-known destination for one of the city's best afternoon teas is the sister brand to Pettigrew Bakeries. David's vision for both businesses has always been to provide high-quality, handcrafted products that reflect his passion for culinary excellence.
Today, Pettigrew Bakeries employs 11 full and part-time bakers and a total of 38 staff. We are proud to train new apprentices every year, nurturing the next generation of skilled bakers. Our commitment to our community and our customers is evident in our continuous efforts to evolve and innovate our product range.
Sourdough
Our Sourdough range is a testament to the magic of natural fermentation, taking 72 hours to create a loaf that is easier to digest, has more depth of flavour, and better inherent keeping qualities than yeasted breads. Our Sourdough bread is made using a millennia-old technique that harnesses the power of naturally occurring lactobacilli and yeast. The slow fermentation process results in a loaf that is not only delicious but also kinder to your stomach.
Viennoiserie
Our Viennoiserie range is simple and perfect, using 100% Estate Dairy cultured butter from the heart of Somerset to create crisp pastries that would not be out of place in Paris' finest establishments. Our range includes classic Croissants & Pain aux Chocolate, as well as generously filled Almond Croissants. We take great pride in our pastry, and our customers can taste the difference.
Patisserie
Our Patisserie range is a delightful combination of classical French patisserie techniques and exciting new flavour combinations. Our award-winning in-house patisserie team creates products that change seasonally, offering a beautiful, elegant, and delicious tasting experience. Our patisserie range is the perfect addition to any special occasion.
Special Occasions
At Pettigrew Bakeries, we understand that every celebration is unique. That's why we offer a range of products to help your special occasion sparkle. Our new Entremet Collection is the perfect Celebration Cake with a Pettigrew twist. These stunning desserts are designed as a unique centerpiece for your celebration and are available for collection, with a minimum of 5 days' notice.
If you're looking for something a little different, we're more than happy to work with you to create a bespoke option. Our Patisserie Table is the perfect addition to any special event, offering a range of delicious patisserie that's sure to impress your guests.
Food Quality
