Cotswold House Care Home is a family-run care home situated in Cainscross, Stroud, offering a warm and welcoming environment for our residents. As a 48-bedded care home, we cater to older people over 65 years and occasionally over 55 years, providing residential, nursing, and dementia care. Our Home Manager, an RGN, oversees the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care.
Our care ethos is centered around providing a calm and relaxed environment, where our residents are treated as individuals with respect and dignity. We believe in giving our residents the freedom to live their lives as they choose, while ensuring they receive the necessary care and support to thrive. Our trained nurse is on duty 24 hours a day, providing reassurance and support to our residents and their loved ones.
History
Cotswold House Care Home has a rich history, having once been a former vicarage serving St Matthews Church next door. Prior to becoming a care home, the building was home to the studio of "Animation (Stroud) Ltd, " a renowned animation studio that produced iconic films like Popeye and Asterix. In the last two years, we have undergone a significant refurbishment programme, investing 1 million to upgrade our facilities and provide a comfortable and modern living space for our residents.
Facilities
Our home boasts two spacious lounges, equipped with the latest whiteboard technology, allowing residents to stay connected, entertained, and informed. Our bright and accessible dining room overlooks the front garden, showcasing some of the original period features of the house. We have also upgraded our wet rooms and bathrooms, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our residents. Many of our bedrooms are en-suite, large, and offer stunning views of the surrounding Cotswold hills. Our courtyard garden and front garden provide a tranquil and safe outdoor space for residents to relax and enjoy the fresh air.
Catering
Our catering staff are dedicated to providing delicious, nutritionally balanced, and specially prepared meals for our residents. Our menus are varied, with a focus on using fresh vegetables, fruits, and high-quality meats and fish. We cater to specialist diets and welcome the opportunity to work with residents and their representatives to ensure our menus reflect their favorite foods. We also celebrate special occasions like birthdays, making every day a memorable one for our residents.
