North Edinburgh Childcare is a well-established childcare provider that has been serving the North Edinburgh community since 1997. Our organisation was founded in response to a growing need for affordable, flexible childcare that would enable local parents and carers to access increased opportunities for work, training, or education. Over the years, we have grown and developed into the multi-stranded operation that we are today, offering a range of services that cater to the diverse needs of our community.
Our Services
Our nursery at Ferry Road Avenue is located within our own purpose-built centre and is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide 66 full-time equivalent places for children aged 4 months to 5 years. We offer part-time as well as full-time sessions, so parents can choose the number and type of sessions that best suit their needs. We also offer subsidized fees to eligible parents who live in Edinburgh and are not already receiving the funded entitlement for 3-5 year olds.
Our nursery consists of three large playrooms, each with its own facilities, and is set within its own grounds with extensive outdoor play areas. Our Early Learning and Childcare team is fully qualified and works closely with parents/carers to maximise children's learning. We offer a range of play opportunities, including music, art, and physical play, to ensure that each child's unique needs are met.
In addition to our nursery, we also offer out-of-school care for 180 children in six local primary schools. Our out-of-school clubs are designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children, while also offering families flexible, affordable childcare solutions.
Training and Support
Our training and support services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. We offer a range of accredited and non-accredited training programs, including SVQ Level 3 Social Services: Children and Young People Award for young people aged 16-24 and SVQ Level 3 Social Services: Children and Young People Award for people aged 25+. We also offer a child protection short course and recruitment services to support our community.
Child-Centered Approach
At North Edinburgh Childcare, we believe that care and learning are not two separate things for babies and young children. Our fully qualified team works closely with parents/carers to maximise children's learning and meet their individual needs. We offer a home visit before children start the nursery, a settling-in period to ease the transition from home to nursery, and a keyworker system that supports the continuing development of strong links between home and nursery.
Our Values
At North Edinburgh Childcare, we are committed to providing high-quality, affordable childcare that supports the well-being and development of children, families, and communities. We believe that every child deserves access to quality early learning and childcare, and we are dedicated to making this a reality.
Conclusion
North Edinburgh Childcare is a trusted and respected childcare provider that has been serving the North Edinburgh community for over two decades. Our commitment to providing high-quality, affordable childcare has earned us the reputation as a leader in the childcare sector.
