Welcome to our website! I'm Penny Annesley, an experienced counsellor, coach, and supervisor with over 12 years of post-qualifying experience. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Services

As an integrative therapist, I am trained in a variety of approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), solution-focused therapy, therapeutic coaching, and narrative therapy. I work in a person-centered approach, following the pace and needs of each individual.

My services include:

  • One-to-one, face-to-face, and online counselling for adults
  • Sessions are 50 minutes long and can run from six sessions to six months or more
  • Regular reviews to assess progress and adjust the therapy plan as needed
  • Complementary and alternative therapies, such as EMDR, for treating trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Supervision services for other counsellors and healthcare professionals

My Background

I come from a background of helping roles, starting my career over 25 years ago. I worked as a legal representative and manager in a large organisation, focusing on human rights law. I relocated to Bristol from London 15 years ago and retrained as a counsellor. I worked in various counselling roles and supervisory roles for a range of organisations, before setting up my private practice in 2011.

  • MSc in Counselling, University of Bristol (Merit)
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills, Lambeth College
  • Certified EMDR Therapist
  • Certified Supervisor
  • Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
  • Member of CAPPP - an organisation for counsellors and psychotherapists in private practice in the South West

About Counselling

Counselling can help during periods of difficulty, change, or uncertainty. It can provide a safe space to explore and process difficult emotions, thoughts, and experiences. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, or relationship issues, and my approach can help you navigate these challenges. I work with a wide range of issues, such as:
