J.B. Gaynan & Son: A Rich History of Craftsmanship and Style

J.B. Gaynan & Son is the longest established retail jewellery shop in Ledbury, having first opened its doors on 1st February 1947. This historic date is all the more remarkable when one considers that it was an exceptionally harsh winter, with snow still present on the British Camp as late as the 1st June!

The shop's history, however, predates 1947. Prior to becoming a jeweller's, the premises had been a bakery since 1890, when it was owned by Charles Lucas Berkeley. The shop then passed into the hands of his son, Lucas Berkeley, who continued the family's baking tradition until 1947. It was only a decade ago that we discovered an old bread branding iron in the cellar, a tangible reminder of the building's past!

For equestrian enthusiasts, we have a stunning collection of horse-inspired jewellery, while our Home Collection offers beautiful pieces for the home. We also have collections inspired by the beauty of the natural world, including the Honey Bee & Dragonfly, Hop Hug, Lily, Galaxy, Opal, Pearl, Hazel, and Atkinson collections.

Our shop is located at 18 The Homend, in the heart of Ledbury's town centre. If you're visiting us by car, we recommend parking in the High Street or Bye Street car parks. From there, it's only a short walk to our shop, which is on the left-hand side, 100m from the clock tower.

We are open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 4pm. We look forward to welcoming you to our shop.
