Nurturing young minds, building a brighter future, together
We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to Framfield Pre-School, a not-for-profit Limited Company and registered charity, which has been providing high-quality care and education for children below statutory school age since November 2010. Our idyllic rural setting, nestled adjacent to Framfield CE Primary School, offers a purpose-built, spacious, and well-appointed environment that is OFSTED registered. We are proud to offer flexible opening times from 7.45 am to 4 pm during term time, carefully tailored to meet the needs of current families and subject to change.
At Framfield Pre-School, we strive to make a child's first steps towards independence a positive, enjoyable, and fun experience. Our philosophy is deeply rooted in nurturing children through play, providing them with opportunities to meet the diverse needs of each unique child and supporting and promoting their overall development in a safe, happy, healthy, and stimulating environment.
Our Philosophy and Approach
We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience we offer children. Our routines and activities are carefully designed to:
1. Help each child feel valued and included
2. Ensure the safety and well-being of each child
3. Encourage social interaction and the development of social skills
4. Provide children with opportunities to learn and promote the value of learning
Our dedicated team of staff members undergo regular and ongoing training to comply with statutory requirements. They hold current Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety Level 2, and Child Protection certificates, with some staff also trained in the administration of Epipen/Auto Injectors.
Our Commitment to Children's Development and Learning
We aim to ensure that each child:
1. Experiences a safe and stimulating environment
2. Receives generous care and attention
3. Engages in activities with other children and adults, promoting social skills and emotional growth
4. Builds upon their existing knowledge and skills
5. Benefits from a personal key person who supports their progress
6. Grows in a setting that values parents as partners in their child's learning and development
7. Develops in a setting that promotes equality and values diversity
The Setting's Timetable and Routines
Our setting organizes sessions to enable children to choose from and work at a range of activities, building their confidence and ability to complete tasks. We offer a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, ensuring children learn new skills, work with others, and engage in outdoor activities that contribute to their health, physical development, and understanding of the world around them.
The Early Years Foundation Stage
Our provision for children's development and learning is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage. We are committed to the four overarching principles of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage:
1. A Unique Child - Every child is a unique individual with the potential to learn and grow.
2. Positive Relationships - Children learn and thrive through positive relationships with caring and supportive adults.
3. Enabling Environments - We create engaging, supportive, and welcoming spaces that respond to children's diverse needs and foster strong partnerships with parents and carers.
4. Learning and Development - Children learn and develop in different ways and at their own pace. We offer activities and experiences that promote their growth and development across seven key areas.
