Littlestars Pre School

We are a privately run, funded, equal opportunities, sessional day care preschool, owned and managed by Emmanuel Church PCC. Established in 1976 as Emmanuel Playgroup, we have been providing high-quality early years education to children in the Stoughton community for over 30 years.

Our Vision

Our aim is to build a secure bridge between each child's home environment and their future school careers. We provide a safe, secure, happy, and stimulating environment where your child can develop their confidence, independence, and self-esteem, and learn alongside their peers through play. We believe that every child is unique and that their development should be nurtured and supported.

Our Philosophy

We work within a framework that ensures equality of opportunity for all children and their families. We believe that children learn best through play and that our well-planned and resourced curriculum leads to approved learning outcomes. We have a high ratio of adults to children, allowing each child to develop at their own pace and realise their full potential within the group.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to support the development of your child. Our key person system enables us to monitor your child's progress and plan our curriculum appropriately, incorporating the needs of each individual child. We offer a wide range of play activities, within a well-resourced and stimulating environment. Our staff are experienced and qualified in early years education, and we have a strong emphasis on parental involvement and community engagement.

Our team is made up of experienced and qualified professionals, many of whom are Christians worshipping at Emmanuel or other local churches. We are proud of our inclusive and diverse team, which reflects the community we serve. Our staff are dedicated to providing a high-quality early years education and are committed to supporting the development of each child in their care.

Our Facilities

Our purpose-built preschool has a well-resourced and stimulating environment, with a large outdoor play area and plenty of natural light. We have a strong emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all children.

Our Admissions Policy

We accept children from the age of 2 years and offer a maximum of 32 places on any given morning. Preference is given to children whose siblings have attended Little Stars preschool, children of families who are part of the regular worshipping community at Emmanuel, and chronological termly order on the waiting list. We are often over-subscribed and it is advisable to put your child's name down on the waiting list as early as possible.
