Empowering mental health, empowering lives

MindWise is a mental health charity, dedicated to providing a wide range of services and support to those affected by mental illness in Northern Ireland. With over 40 years of experience, we have developed a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities of mental health issues, enabling us to offer tailored interventions to help individuals and families navigate their journey to recovery.

Our Story

Established in 1978, MindWise has grown from a small group of volunteers into a leading mental health organisation with a diverse staff team and over 200 dedicated volunteers. Our work has evolved over the decades in response to the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve, earning us the reputation of a forward-thinking and innovative mental health provider.

Our Strategy

Our strategy is guided by the principles of recovery, collaboration, and empowerment. We believe that recovery is possible for everyone, regardless of their mental health condition, and that by fostering a supportive environment where individuals feel valued and heard, they can regain control of their lives and build a fulfilling future.

Our Impact

Each year, we support over 5,000 people through our range of services, including advocacy, money advice, mental health & wellbeing programmes, housing, talking therapies, and carer and family support. We are continuously evaluating and refining our interventions to ensure they have the greatest positive impact on the lives of those we help.

Our People

MindWise is fortunate to have a dedicated team of professionals who bring their expertise, compassion, and commitment to our cause each day. We also benefit from the skills and enthusiasm of our volunteers, who generously give their time to help us deliver our services and raise awareness of mental health in the community.

How We Spend Our Money

We take our responsibility to use our funds wisely very seriously. Over 85% of our expenditure is directly invested in delivering services that support those with mental health issues and their families. The remaining funds are allocated to essential governance and fundraising activities that enable us to sustain and grow our impact.
