Goldilocks

Goldilocks day nursery, established in 1990, has been a home away from home for many families in the area. We pride ourselves on providing quality care and education that is at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated team understands the importance of creating a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel loved and secure.

We have a strong emphasis on building relationships with parents and providing a smooth settling in process for new children. Our key person system allows for a special bond between a member of staff and a small group of children. We believe that this approach helps children settle in more easily and fosters a sense of security and belonging.

Our nursery is divided into 5 rooms, each designed to cater to the specific needs and developmental stages of the children. We believe in continuity of care and encourage children to transition through the nursery when they are ready. Our transition process includes short regular visits to the new room and introduction to the new key person, allowing children to become familiar with the new space and build a bond with their new carer.

Our Services

At Goldilocks day nursery, we offer a range of services to suit the needs of different families. Our full day care service is available from 7.30am to 6pm, providing flexible care for working parents. We also offer single morning and afternoon sessions for those who require shorter hours of care.

We are proud to offer the 15-hour free grant funding for all 3 and 4-year-old children, making high-quality early years education accessible to all families.

Learning Opportunities

At Goldilocks day nursery, we believe that every moment is a learning opportunity. We provide a range of activities and experiences that promote children's development and prepare them for school and beyond. Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is delivered through a combination of structured activities and free play.

We have a strong focus on outdoor learning and have a beautiful garden space where children can explore, play and learn. Our experienced and qualified staff facilitate children's learning through play and provide individual support and guidance where needed.

Meals

At Goldilocks day nursery, we believe that mealtimes are an important part of the day. We provide nutritious and well-balanced meals, freshly prepared on site by our nursery cook. We work closely with the children's food trust to ensure that our meals meet the nutritional needs of growing children, while also being delicious and appealing. We are proud to have been awarded 5 stars by Environmental Health for food safety.

We are a nut-free nursery and can cater for children with specific dietary requirements. We provide breakfast, a two-course lunch, and a snack in the afternoon, as well as milk or water throughout the day. We encourage children to enjoy mealtimes as social occasions and to develop good table manners and behaviour.

Staff

At Goldilocks day nursery, we believe that our staff are our greatest asset. All of our senior staff and room leaders are qualified nursery nurses with a certificate in First Aid and either a National Nursery Examination Board Certificate (NNEB), B-Tec National Diploma, NVQ level 3 in Childcare, Early Years Educator (EYE) or DCE Level 3 in Childcare and education.

Our nursery assistants are dedicated and sensitive to the needs of individual children. They are experienced and many are in training for the Level 2 Diploma or the Level 3 Diploma (EYE). We encourage all staff to participate in ongoing training and development to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to provide the best possible care for the children in our setting.

Policies and Procedures

At Goldilocks day nursery, we have comprehensive policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in our care. These are available for parents to read at any time and we welcome feedback and suggestions for improvement.
