Empowering young minds through education and care

At Greyfriars Day Nursery, we pride ourselves on providing a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children from three months to five years old. Situated in the heart of Reading's town centre, our nursery is easily accessible and offers a secure, spacious playground for children to explore and learn.

Our Aims

As a nursery, our primary aim is to put the child at the centre of everything we do. We believe in delivering a balance of care and learning for all children, within a happy and calm environment. We aim to provide an environment that encourages a true love of learning, from basic numeracy, literacy, and science to developing physical movement, learning to form relationships, and nurturing a sense of fun.

Our Values

Our values are deeply rooted in our Christian ethos, which is aligned with the values of Greyfriars Church. We believe in offering reassurance, comfort, and sensitive interactions to our children. We encourage good manners, tolerance, and respect among our children and staff.

Our Team

Our team of enthusiastic, caring, and professional educators works closely with parents to provide the very best Early Years education. Our senior staff and room leaders are qualified Nursery Nurses with a minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Early Years Educator, or equivalent. Our Nursery Assistants are also training for their Level 2 qualification, or have achieved Level 2 and are training for Level 3. We require all staff to attend Emergency Paediatric First Aid Training and Child Protection Training.

Our Facilities

Our nursery is registered with Ofsted and complies with Early Years Foundation Stage standards and regulations. We believe in providing a safe, stimulating, and fun environment for children to learn and develop. Our nursery is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a secure and large playground, where children can explore and learn.

What Parents Say

We are proud of the positive feedback we receive from our parents. Here's what some of our parents have to say:

"My child is so excited to get to nursery every morning. I would recommend Greyfriars Day Nursery to family and friends. The staff are very supportive, professional, and friendly. My son has been attending the nursery for almost one and a half years now. He loves going to nursery daily. The key worker has made sure my son is looked after constantly and that he does his work independently. The nursery is a second home for him."
