Coxheath Preschool & Rising Fives

Coxheath Preschool Group is a village-based preschool that aims to enhance the development and education of children in our care. We provide a warm and welcoming environment where children can grow and thrive, and our dedicated team of staff and committee members work together to ensure that every child receives the best possible start in life.

Our History

Coxheath Preschool Group began in 1968 as Cobtree Playgroup, based in a residential property in Cobtree Road. Due to its increasing popularity, the group moved to Coxheath Village Hall in 1971. In 1983, the group added extra afternoon sessions for older children, soon to go to school, in the Coxheath Scout Hut. The name was officially changed to Coxheath Preschool Group in 1995, with the morning sessions coming under Coxheath Preschool, and the afternoon session coming under Coxheath Rising Five Preschool. All sessions are run by the same committee and staff members.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to support the development and education of children aged 2-4 years. Our morning term-time sessions are based at Coxheath Village Hall, and we welcome all children aged 2-4 years into our care. We also offer rising five sessions for children who will be starting school in September that year, aimed at helping them with the transition from preschool to school. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can develop their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills, and our experienced staff are dedicated to providing high-quality care and education.

Our services include:

• Morning term-time sessions for children aged 2-4 years
• Rising five sessions for children starting school in September
• Free Early Education funding available for eligible children
• Healthy snacks and drinks provided during sessions
• Regular inspections by Ofsted and Social Services
• Equal Opportunities Policy and Child Protection Procedures in place

Our Team

Our team is made up of experienced and dedicated staff members, all of whom live locally and are committed to providing the best possible care and education for our children. Our staff are regularly inspected by Ofsted and Social Services, and we operate an Equal Opportunities Policy and Child Protection Procedures. We also have a committee of volunteers who are responsible for overseeing the management of the preschool and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently.
