Welcome to Little Foxes, an independent family-run nursery located in the picturesque village of Brinkworth, Wiltshire. Established in 1986, we have been providing high-quality childcare and education for babies and children aged 0-5 years, as well as an Out of School Club for children aged 5-11 years, for over three decades. Situated in a building that dates back to 1690, our nursery is steeped in history and character, and our well-equipped garden and meadow offer stunning views of the Dauntsey Vale.
At Little Foxes, we are committed to providing a secure, homely environment where children can learn and develop at their own pace. Our philosophy and ethos are centered around happiness and well-being, and we believe that strong role models and positive attitudes towards learning are essential in building confidence and resilience in young children. Our team of dedicated staff, who we fondly refer to as the 'Foxy Family', are all vetted by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and work closely together to ensure that every child's needs are catered for.
Philosophy & Ethos
Our approach to teaching and learning is holistic, recognising that every child is unique. We believe that young children learn best within a secure, homely environment where adults are strong role models, helping to build confidence in children to enable them to be self-assured, resilient and to develop positive attitudes towards learning. We are proud to have been judged Outstanding and Good by Ofsted since 2009, reflecting our commitment to providing the highest standards of care and education.
Our Staff
Our staff are our greatest asset, and we are committed to providing a continuous training programme to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide the best possible care and education for our children. Over 80% of our staff are qualified, and those who do not yet hold a recognised qualification are working towards one. Our Key Worker system ensures that each child has a dedicated member of staff who will gather information concerning their development and plan activities that will enhance their learning.
Special Educational Needs
We welcome children with special educational needs at Little Foxes and work closely with outside professionals and have our own Special Education Needs Support Worker (SEND Worker) and Co-Ordinator (SENCo). We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child can thrive, and we work closely with parents to ensure that their child's individual needs are met.
Fees
We offer universal and extended '30 hours' Early Years government grant funding for two, three and four year-olds. We also accept Childcare Vouchers and 'Tax-Free Childcare'. A one-off registration fee and deposit are payable before your child joins us, and thereafter, fees are invoiced monthly or termly in advance. Our fees include all meals, snacks and nappies, and we offer flexible full day and full week options to suit your needs.
Nursery Experience

The nursery's approach helped to transition the child, who had limited social interaction and activities outside the home, into nursery life.
