Location
We are situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Rosewell, offering a peaceful countryside setting while being only 6 miles from the bustling city of Edinburgh. Our kennels are easily accessible from the Sheriff Hall roundabout on the City Bypass. Upon exiting the roundabout, proceed south on the A7, then turn right at the third roundabout onto the A9064. Continue through Bonnyrigg, taking the second turning towards Rosewell. You will find us on the left-hand side, with ample parking available.
Dog Accommodation
At Candidacasa Boarding Kennels, we understand the importance of providing a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment for our canine guests. Dogs are housed in individual exercise runs, where they can spend most of their day, weather permitting. For the safety of all dogs, they are not taken outside the secure boundaries of our kennel grounds. We also have grass paddocks that are fully fenced, where our staff often engage in playtime with our furry friends.
Our larger dogs are kept separate from smaller ones, ensuring a less intimidating environment for the smaller dogs. Our kennels offer a variety of feeding options, including a quality complete chicken and rice-based food with added meat or tuna flavours. We cater to special dietary needs, as long as the owners provide the necessary food. Please note that we cannot accept animals requiring injections, even for diabetes management.
Cat Accommodation
Our cattery comprises outdoor enclosures situated in garden areas, allowing cats to observe bird life and engage with nature. Each enclosure consists of an indoor area with heated beds, food, and water and an outdoor area with a litter tray and a small shelf for sunbathing. All cat pens offer 24-hour access to the outdoor area and can be heated upon request. We accommodate multiple cats from the same family in larger enclosures.
Cats are primarily fed high-quality dry complete food, but we also offer a range of Whiskas cans and pouches, including kitten and senior varieties. Tuna and chicken are available for finicky eaters. We respect all dietary requirements and are happy to accommodate special needs, provided the owners supply the necessary food and medication. As with our canine guests, we cannot accept animals requiring injections.
