Our History: A Tale of Love, Passion, and Destiny
Elgano is the culmination of a lifelong dream for our founders Simona, Carlo, and Pietro. Growing up in Italy, they fell in love with the rich culinary traditions and flavours of their homeland. Determined to share this love with others, they moved to the UK to follow their studies, careers, and dreams. After meeting Elgan and Hazel in a cafe in the city, they began their journey to opening their little taste of home in Cardiff. From the moment they entered the premises, they knew it was the perfect venue for them. After working tirelessly through the day and night, they achieved their dream of opening an authentic Italian restaurant. They are humbled by the national awards they have received and are honoured to be recognized as one of the best Italian restaurants in Wales.
