Summerlands Care Home is a special place. First and foremost, it's a real home, full of love, laughter, and friendship. Secondly, it's a residential care home with a 'Good' CQC rating and holds the highest award for end of life care. We're incredibly proud of the place we've created here in West Sussex.

Our highly qualified team genuinely cares about this home and the people who live here. Our owners are heavily involved and constantly invest in Summerlands to improve the home from every angle. We offer a range of services, including residential care, end of life care, and activities for our residents to enjoy.

Our Team

Our team is led by Lowela Alcazaren, the registered manager who has worked at Summerlands since 2008. Lowela is a qualified nurse and has brought about many positive changes, including leading the team to achieve Beacon status accreditation in the Gold Standards Framework. Our team is made up of dedicated and compassionate individuals, including Abbey Cornell, our Senior Carer, Michael Cornell, our Commis Chef, and Martin Gallagher, our Head Chef. We're always happy to hear from people looking for a career in care who share our ethos, so please do get in touch.

Our Home

Located in a quiet residential spot on the fringe of Haywards Heath in West Sussex, our home is an idyllic retreat. Our beautiful gardens, with a landscaped pond, seating area, fruit trees, and paths, offer year-round interest and are a wonderful place to spend time. Our residents and visitors can enjoy a view of the gardens from most windows, and everyone is encouraged to pop outside into the garden and patio area when the sun is shining.

Our Philosophy

Finding the right care home for your relative is no easy task. We understand that everyone has different priorities, perceptions, and ideals. As a care provider, we took the experience of looking through our founder's father's eyes to establish what was important to him when searching for a care home. This experience was our inspiration for Summerlands to feel like your home, to be proud to call it home, and to want your friends and family to visit you in your home.
