Fletcher's Butchers, an award-winning family business, has been serving the communities of Norton, Malton, Ryedale, and North Yorkshire for over half a century. Our commitment is to provide the finest quality meats, home-cooked goods, and exceptional service. Our selection includes locally-sourced lamb, poultry, game, and beef, freshly baked pies, roast meats, farmhouse cheeses, and an array of delicious home-baked cakes and biscuits. We take pride in offering all the necessary items for a fantastic English breakfast.
As a full-service butcher, Fletcher's provides all cuts of meat and home-cooked goods throughout the North Yorkshire area. Our range of services extends to event catering and supplying quality meat to the hospitality industry. We have an on-site bakehouse, where we source and cure our own meats, and provide a local delivery service. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays. Our deliveries are made daily from Monday to Saturday.
Our History
Fletcher's Butchers has been a cornerstone of Norton, North Yorkshire, since the early 1920s. The Fletcher family, who owned shops in Scarborough and Bridlington, started the business, and in 1962, Mr Fletcher passed the reins to his apprentice, Eric Hogg. Eric, who was well-known and respected in the shop and wider community, was remembered for his dedication to providing the best quality meats and services. Eric's son, Peter, joined the business in 1977, continuing the family tradition. Today, Peter manages a team of 10 staff members, maintaining the shop's reputation for quality and service.

Fletcher's Butchers is a proud member of the local community, with a team made up of long-time locals, some of whom have been with the shop for over 30 years. Our team includes:

Great British Butchery
Fletcher's Butchers oversees the meat from hoof to plate. Peter hand-selects all meat after inspecting the animal's passport and discussing welfare, rearing, and feed with the farmer at the auction. We take great care to ensure the best quality for our customers. Once the carcasses arrive at the premises, we hang the beef for 21 days, allowing for better taste and texture. All processing is carried out at our extensive premises, ensuring the quality of our products.
We cold smoke all our bacon using Applewood Chips, which provide a delicate and distinctive flavour. Recently, we imported an Italian curing cabinet for our homemade salamis and chorizos, allowing us to create these traditional products to the highest standards.
