At Picture This Art & Framing, we offer a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Art Restoration: Our Fine Art Conservator has over 37 years' experience working with materials and art from Classical paintings to Impressionist to Modern. We use the latest techniques and materials to restore your artwork to its former glory.
- Mouldings/Frames: We have an extensive selection of colours, styles, and materials to suit your needs and preferences and to help you visualise your project when framed. We will be very pleased to go through these with you in our workshop.
- Mount Cutting: Mountboard comes in a wide range of colours and textures and can be applied singly or overlapped to highlight certain aspects of your project. We aim to complement the piece but not to distract from it.
- Object Showcasing: We are experienced in framing and showcasing a wide range of objects and memorabilia and can draw upon a wealth of knowledge of materials and techniques. We are very creative and love to work with our customers to design the best way to present their projects.
- Textile Art: There is a broad range of techniques recommended to properly present and protect the diverse styles, materials, and disciplines in textile art. We prefer to lace and sandwich mount to secure fabric art. We are always happy to offer our experience to talk through the specifics of your project.
- Canvas Stretching: Artwork on canvas is often purchased as a rolled item, which then requires stretching over wooden stretcher bars before being displayed. We tailor-make our stretcher bars onsite.
- Sports Memorabilia: We are experienced in framing and showcasing all manner of sporting memorabilia from Olympic medals to representative caps, signed international shirts, judo belts, tickets, and programmes. We are framers for England Women's Rugby Union team.
- Conservation: The standard of framing, mounting, and presentation we adhere to is to conservation level throughout our services. We undertake to ensure that work is completely reversible without harm to the artwork or project, and the materials used will provide protection against deterioration.
- Speciality Glass: If you want to give special protection to your subject, we have a range of specialty glass offering reflection control and UV protection. We also have a range of acrylics.
The Collection
Our artist, Stephen Byrne, is a self-taught artist working primarily in pastels and oils. His work is mainly realistic and lifelike, but he works hard to avoid making simple facsimiles and aims to convey mood, atmosphere, and to provide a sense of participation. Stephen is very happy to accept commissions, so please get in touch if you have a particular project in mind.
Meet the Team
We are a friendly husband and wife team who have been framing and making art since 2010. Owner and Director Ann Carroll is a Fine Art Trade Guild Commended Framer and has won the guilds national annual framing competition. Ann is delighted and very proud that Picture This has earned a reputation for providing high-quality framing with excellent customer services.
