Our founder, Helena, discovered her love for floristry while studying art and acting, but it wasn't until she enrolled in a floristry course and applied for an allotment that she found her true calling. She was shocked by the huge quantities of flowers being imported from around the world, often at the expense of the environment and local ecosystems. This sparked a desire to create a more organic approach to floristry, one that prioritizes sustainability, seasonality, and local sourcing.

In 2016, Helena founded The Allotment Florist, driven by a vision to create beautiful, sustainable floral displays that not only brought joy to her clients but also contributed to a more environmentally conscious industry. Growing up in Leeds, surrounded by the stunning Yorkshire Dales, Helena's work is heavily influenced by the natural beauty of the British countryside.
