Transforming Lives Through Counselling and Support

Our Mission

At Listening Ear, we believe in the transformative power of counselling. As a thriving and developing charity and social enterprise, we're here to help those who've been bereaved, suffered loss or experienced separation. We're proud of our services and our partnerships with local authorities, the NHS, schools, local businesses and the trusts and foundations that help fund our work.

Our Services

We offer a range of counselling services, including Butterflies, which provides support for those affected by bereavement and loss; DiAmond, which offers emotional support for domestic abuse; Titanium, which focuses on looked-after children and carers; and VIDA, which provides occupational health counselling. Additionally, we offer Amparo, a support service following suicide, and Mindset, a professional training and services division.

Our services are designed to provide high-quality therapy and support to those in need. We understand that everyone's journey is unique, and we're committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to process their emotions and work through their challenges.

Our History

Listening Ear began in 1993 as a 'reflective listening' service run by community volunteers. With funding from The Steve Morgan Foundation, in 2004, we established one of the first age-appropriate bereavement therapy services for children and young people. We professionalized and became a registered charity in 2006, with our adult counselling service becoming the first service in Merseyside to achieve Accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Our children's service achieved accreditation in 2019.

Our Impact

We're proud of the difference we make to people's lives. Our services are focused on impact, and we're committed to expanding our reach to support even more individuals in need. We operate in locations across the country, and we're always looking for ways to improve and grow.
