Our Hotel

Our hotel is situated in the West of Oxford, close to the railway station and just a ten-minute walk from the city center. Our hotel is comprised of two buildings, the main hotel where all our en-suite rooms are located, and a house situated two minutes across the road, where we have our basic rooms. Originally built as a coaching inn, our hotel takes its name from its proximity to the West Gate of the City of Oxford.

Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires

Oxford, known as the "city of dreaming spires, " is a beautiful city steeped in history and culture. The city is home to some of the world's most iconic universities, including Oxford University, and is famous for its stunning architecture, literary links, and vibrant cultural scene. Visitors to Oxford can enjoy a range of attractions, including the Ashmolean Museum, the Pitt Rivers Museum, and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Getting Here

Getting to our hotel is easy, even with the current roadworks on Botley Road. Pedestrians can still walk under the bridge as normal, and we are just a short drive from the west of Oxford. We are currently in discussion with Network Rail and Oxford City Council about the negative impact these works will have on our guests, and they have assured us they will limit disturbance overnight and early in the morning.
