Flourishing as a unique and whole child of God
At St James' CE Primary School, we are a one-form entry school in Enfield, proudly linked to St James' Church. This special link allows our children to flourish and learn from Christian values, which are at the heart of everything we do. Our school community is built on strong foundations, and we strive to ensure that every child has a unique and fulfilling journey with us.
Our Christian Vision and Values
Our Christian vision is inspired by Matthew 13: The Parable of the Sower, which reminds us that our role as educators is to sow seeds of knowledge, faith, and values that will help our children grow into confident, compassionate, and responsible individuals. Our Christian values of Kindness and Respect underpin everything we do, and we encourage our children to live out these values in their daily lives. We believe that every child is a precious gift from God, and we are committed to providing a nurturing environment that allows them to flourish and reach their full potential.
Play Therapy and Other Specialist Services
At St James', we understand that every child is unique, and we offer a range of specialist services to support their individual needs. Our resident Play Therapist and Music Therapist work closely with our class teachers to help children develop socially, emotionally, and academically. These services not only provide a safe and supportive space for children to express themselves but also allow us to tailor our teaching and learning to meet each child's individual needs.
Academic and Extracurricular Opportunities
At St James', we offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes a wide range of subjects, from phonics and literacy to maths and science. We also provide a broad range of extracurricular activities, including music, art, and physical education, to help children develop their interests and talents. Our small class sizes and dedicated teachers ensure that every child receives the attention and support they need to succeed.
Our Half-Termly Values
Each half term, we focus on one of our core values, exploring what it means and how it can be demonstrated in our daily lives. Our values are taught through worship, assemblies, and class lessons, and we encourage children to reflect on how they can live out these values in their own lives. Our latest half-termly value is Courage, and we are excited to see how our children will demonstrate this value in their daily lives.
Our Community
At St James', we believe that our community is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to build strong relationships with our children, parents, and carers, and we work together to create a supportive and inclusive environment. We promote our values amongst all members of our school community, including governors and parents, and we encourage everyone to play an active role in shaping our school's culture and values.
