Grasmere Nursing Home is a family-run home that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere to all our residents who require permanent or respite nursing care. Our commitment to the highest standards of care enables residents to enjoy living at Grasmere and maximise their independence with dignity. As a small home, we are able to concentrate on each resident's needs, making them feel part of the family atmosphere that we strive to create.
Our Services
We offer a range of services to cater to the individual needs of our residents. Our staff are carefully selected and receive training in all aspects of care, with a minimum NVQ 2 qualification. We provide a variety of choices in lifestyle, including a lounge and dining room with a view of the garden, and an in-house activities co-ordinator who provides a wide range of stimulating activities. Our in-house chef prepares daily wholesome meals, and we can cater to specialist diets. We also have regular visits from a doctor, physiotherapist, optician, dentist, and chiropodist, as well as spiritual services from visiting clergy of different denominations.
Accommodation
We offer a range of accommodation options, with all 20 rooms being single occupancy, and several including en-suite facilities and garden views. Each room is equipped with call-bell systems, heating, and digital TV, and we have modern bathing facilities that include assisted baths and a wet room. Our beautiful garden is designed for easy strolling, and all areas of the home are accessible by lift.
Activities
Our activities program is designed to meet the individual needs and aspirations of our residents. We offer a wide range of activities, including music, crafts, bingo, and board games. We also have reminiscence sessions, using pictures, photographs, and props to stimulate memory and conversation. Our activities are tailored to meet the differing needs of our residents, and we ensure that no one is left out.
