Building a love of learning for life, one small step at a time

Little Thetford Acorns Pre-school & Toddler Group has been a proud pillar in the local community in Little Thetford, just three miles out of Ely in Cambridgeshire, for nearly five decades. Our aim has always been to provide a nurturing, fun, and safe environment where children can grow and develop while building strong relationships with our dedicated and experienced staff.

Our Pre-School

Our pre-school is designed to provide a setting where learning is exciting, and children can flourish. We strive to instill in each child a lifelong love of learning and skills necessary for contributing to the community. Our well-planned setting is divided into zones that reflect the seven areas of learning and development in the Early Years Foundation Stage. These zones include a role-play area, writing and craft area, and a large outdoor garden, which allows children to play freely and independently.

Our activities are carefully planned by our highly qualified and knowledgeable staff, taking into account the children's interests and developmental stages. We believe in providing a diverse range of resources and activities each day, depending on the children's focus and needs. Our staff are committed to creating a nurturing environment where children feel valued, respected, and secure.

Our Staff

We take great pride in our team of well-qualified, experienced, kind, and caring early years staff and teachers. Our staff are dedicated to providing the highest levels of care and education for your children. We actively encourage all our staff to attend regular training to help develop them personally, which in turn benefits Little Thetford Acorns Pre-school and your attending children.

Our staff hold training certificates in various areas of child development, and we are proud of their achievements. We will introduce you to our team of dedicated staff, starting with Gemma, our Pre-school Manager, who holds a Level 3 Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB) and is our Child Protection Designated Person and SENCo.

Welcome to Forest School

We have been fortunate to have a dedicated committee, comprising of parents and local community members, who work tirelessly to support our pre-school. Their hard work has enabled us to continue providing high-quality services to our children.

Our Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

We believe that every child is unique and should be encouraged to grow and develop at their own pace. Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the individual needs of each child, taking into account their interests, abilities, and developmental stages.
