Who we are
We are a values-based charity deeply rooted in the lived experiences of people in Dorset. Since 1993, we have been influencing social change and advocating for social justice, focusing on mental health, wellbeing, and recovery. Guided by our collective expertise and personal experiences, we empower individuals and communities to build a future where mental health is openly understood and effectively supported.
What we do
Our approach is unique, utilizing collective lived experience to influence and shape local services and increase understanding of mental health. We work in partnership with individuals, organizations, and communities, fostering a space for collective action and lasting change. Our work encompasses:
- Recovery and Education: Providing peer-led support, educational resources, and training to promote self-management and recovery.
- Social Connection and Advocacy: Challenging stigma, fostering meaningful relationships, and advocating for policy changes that support mental wellbeing.
- Employment and Crisis Support: Facilitating access to opportunities, offering crisis support resources, and supporting individuals in overcoming challenges.

Mixed Feedback on Mental Health Program
Beneficial Classes and Volunteering Experience
Author Anth Parker, who rated the program with 3 stars, has had a mixed experience. They found the classes beneficial and decided to become a volunteer for about a year. They applied for a post with a glowing CV but did not receive any response. Despite their efforts, they never received a thank you for their hard work and dedication.
Staff Knowledge and Services
