At Swan Nursery & Forest School, we pride ourselves on providing a warm and welcoming environment for children from the age of 2 to 5 years old. Our nursery is situated in a beautiful semi-rural setting, offering a unique blend of indoor and outdoor learning experiences. As a small, friendly nursery and forest school, we have a well-deserved reputation for providing excellent care and education to children in South Norfolk and North Suffolk.
Our Facilities
Our purpose-built nursery and forest school is designed to cater to the needs of young children. The interior is divided into various areas, including a 'messy' room for water, sand-pit, painting, and other craft activities, a general play room for construction toys, home corner, and imaginative play, a quiet area for reading and learning, and finally, another area for group activities. Our outdoor space is equally impressive, with a large patio for bikes, tractors, and prams, a separate forest school in the woods, a log cabin for older children, a 'mini' playground with climbing frames, playhouses, and football pitches, and a new outdoor classroom.

Our staff have an average of over 4 years of service with the nursery, providing a stable and caring environment for our children.
Our Approach
We believe that children learn best through play and exploration. Our curriculum is designed to be child-centered and flexible, allowing us to accommodate the differing needs of each child. Our experienced staff work closely with parents to ensure that we are meeting the individual needs of each child. We understand the importance of outdoor play and ensure that our children have plenty of opportunities to explore and learn in our beautiful surroundings.
Our Services
We offer a range of services to support your child's early years education. Our nursery is open from 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and we also offer a holiday club for parents who need childcare during school holidays. We understand that every family has different needs, so we aim to be flexible and accommodating, working closely with parents to ensure that we meet their individual requirements.
Ofsted Registration
We are proud to hold a current Ofsted registration, with a rating of 'Good' in our latest inspection. Our registration number is EY335553, and you can view our Ofsted report on our website or on the Ofsted website.
Government Funding
We understand that the cost of childcare can be a significant burden for many families. As such, we want to help by assisting with government funding for eligible children. Children aged 3-5 are eligible to receive 15 hours of funded early education per week, with many children entitled to 30 hours of funded education. Two-year-old funding is also available, and we can help you navigate the application process.
