Testimonials

"I was really nervous when I first came for counselling, but Bonny was really friendly and easy to talk to. By the end of the first session, I felt relieved, as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders."

"I had been drinking excessively for several months before I found the courage to come for counselling. It was the best decision I have ever made, and I only regret not coming earlier. Over the weeks, Bonny helped me understand why I was drinking and how to control my drinking. I now feel so much happier and in control of my life."

"Bonny made me feel at ease, and I came out laughing from my first session. I was actually looking forward to going back the following week."

About Bonny

Bonny originally trained as a psychiatric and general nurse at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. She practiced as a nurse for over 13 years in various settings, including Claybury hospital, a well-known psychiatric hospital in Chigwell, Essex. This experience provided Bonny with knowledge and understanding of a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

In 1996, Bonny decided to retrain as a counsellor and qualified in 1998 after completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling. She then went on to study for a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, which she completed in 2000. Bonny worked part-time for 7 years with the Essex probation services, providing drug and alcohol counselling. Alongside this, she worked in primary and secondary schools in the London Borough of Enfield for 8 years, counselling children and young people aged 5-18 years.

Bonny also worked at Anglia Ruskin University for 4 years, counselling university students and facilitating workshops, support groups, and therapeutic groups. She has experience as a bereavement counsellor, having worked for Whipps Cross Hospital bereavement service, providing bereavement counselling for adults and facilitating children's bereavement groups.

Currently, Bonny works solely within her private practice, which includes contract work with GP surgeries in Essex and Hertfordshire. She also takes referrals from various EAP companies, insurance companies such as Aviva, Right Core Care, and Bupa, and provides staff counselling for the NHS. Within her private practice, Bonny has previously worked in conjunction with the Essex Ambulance Service and Victim Support as a specialist post-trauma counsellor, counselling clients suffering from complicated grief and post-traumatic stress disorder following the murder of a loved one.

Bonny is a trained adoption counsellor with Link Adoption Support Services, an adoption agency affiliated with Barnardo's, working with adoptees, adoptees' parents, and birth parents. Bonny is also trained and practices as a telephone counsellor and on-line counsellor, currently volunteering for an organisation providing on-line counselling and support.
