Harman House Counselling Centre offers confidential counselling services in the Barking, Dagenham, Havering & Redbridge areas. Our aim is to provide a welcoming and safe space where you can talk about your concerns and difficulties. We believe that talking to someone can help you see the problem more clearly, enabling you to explore all the possible solutions. Our counsellors are trained to support you in making the right decisions for yourself, and to help you understand why you feel the way you do.

What is Counselling all about?

Counselling is a process of talking and exploring your thoughts and feelings with a trained professional. It provides an opportunity for you to express yourself openly and honestly, without fear of judgement or ridicule. Counselling supports you in making the right decisions for yourself, but not by yourself. It gives you the space to explore who you are and what really matters to you. This can be a very positive experience.

At Harman House Counselling Centre, we offer a confidential and safe space for you to explore your concerns. Our counsellors are trained to work in a way that enables you not to be dependent on them, but to support you in believing in yourself and trusting your own judgement. We believe that counselling should be a collaborative process, where you are actively involved in the decision-making process.

Our Counselling Services

Our counsellors have had professional training to at least Diploma level and are regularly supervised. We have a team of over 20 specialists who are all volunteers with the agency. We offer counselling services to adults, young people, and couples. Our counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and are available Monday - Friday, between the times of 10 am and 9 pm.

We offer a calm and supportive environment where you can talk about your concerns and difficulties. Our counsellors are trained to work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, relationships, and many more. We believe that everyone is unique, and therefore, we tailor our approach to suit your individual needs and preferences.

Self-Referrals

We accept self-referrals, and you can refer yourself via our assessment form. Our assessment form is designed to help us understand your needs and preferences, and to match you with the most suitable counsellor. We take your confidentiality seriously, and all the information you provide will be kept confidential.
