At You and Me Counselling, we are a charitable organisation dedicated to providing help and support to children, young people, and their families in the London Borough of Havering. Established in 2011, our mission is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Our History
Our organisation was founded by someone who understood the importance of seeking help when needed. The founder's personal experience with her troubled teenage son led her to establish a service that would provide support to families facing similar challenges. Since then, we have grown to become a trusted provider of counselling and psychotherapy services in Hornchurch, Essex.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to support individuals of all ages. Our team of experienced counsellors and therapists provide:
- Counselling for children, young people, and adults
- Group therapy sessions in schools
- Staff training for schools
- Individual and family therapy sessions
- Counselling for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and trauma
Our counsellors and therapists work from our Hornchurch office, as well as in schools and other community settings. We believe in working collaboratively with our clients to establish an understanding of their situation and problems, with the goal of instilling meaning and value into their lives.
Our Team
Our team consists of male and female counsellors and therapists from diverse backgrounds and with varying counselling orientations, including person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and integrative. All our therapists are members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work in accordance with the ethical framework. We also offer placements to trainee counsellors who have been signed off by their place of study as fit to practice.
Why We Do What We Do
We believe that everyone deserves access to quality counselling and psychotherapy services. Unfortunately, many children and young people face mental health issues, and there is often a lack of awareness and inadequate support available. At You and Me Counselling, we are committed to filling this gap by providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Overall Experience
The reviews suggest that experiences with the counselor vary greatly, with one reviewer having a highly positive experience and another having a highly negative one.
Negative Experiences
One reviewer, Michelle, had a very poor experience with the counselor, describing them as "rude, unprofessional, unhelpful" and lacking empathy. She felt that they did not care about her mental health or well-being.
