Unleash Your Inner Pilot, Fuel Your Aviational Dreams
Here at Youthlife, we are dedicated to providing support for children and young people aged 5-25 who have been affected by bereavement, separation, divorce or loss of a significant person. Our organisation was established in 1992 by a group of parents concerned about the emotional effect of bereavement and loss on their own children. Today, we are a registered charity (NIC 105568) and a company limited by guarantee, governed by a Board of Directors.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe and confidential space for children and young people to express their feelings and emotions, and to receive the support they need to cope with their experiences. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to live a happy and fulfilling life, and we are committed to helping them achieve this.
What We Do
At Youthlife, we offer a range of programmes and services designed to support children and young people who have been affected by bereavement, separation, divorce or loss of a significant person. These include free 1:1 Counselling, group work programmes, and peer mentoring. Our programmes are led by qualified Counsellors who have specialist experience in working with children, teenagers, and young adults. We also provide training and support for our facilitators and Peer Mentors, who work alongside our Counsellors to provide a comprehensive support network.
Programmes and Services
Our programmes and services are designed to be flexible and adaptable, to meet the unique needs of each individual. We offer support in a variety of settings, including our own centre on Bishop Street, schools, youth clubs, and community venues. Our programmes are designed to be accessible and inclusive, and we work closely with schools, community groups, and other organisations to ensure that our services are available to those who need them most.
History of Youthlife
Since our establishment in 1992, we have grown from a small group of concerned parents to a vital organisation that provides support to hundreds of children and young people each year. We are proud of our heritage and our commitment to supporting young people who have been affected by bereavement and loss.
