Lancashire Shotokan Karate Academy

Here at Lancashire Shotokan Karate Academy, we are a friendly and supportive environment that welcomes karate practitioners of all levels, from beginners to experienced karateka. Our association was established in September 2010 by our Chief Instructor, Sensei Richard Pavsic, who has a wealth of competitive and coaching experience to pass on.

About Our Services

At Lancashire Shotokan Karate Academy, we offer a range of services designed to help you improve your karate skills and achieve your goals. Our classes are held at our dedicated facility in Pemberton Business Centre, where we provide a safe and supportive environment for our students to learn and grow. Our classes are led by experienced instructors who are passionate about teaching karate and helping their students succeed.

We offer a variety of classes to suit different ages and skill levels, from beginner classes for those just starting out, to advanced classes for those looking to improve their techniques. We also offer grading syllabus, which provides a structured framework for our students to progress and improve their skills.

In addition to our classes, we also offer a range of resources to help our students improve their karate skills, including access to our LSKA TV channel, which features instructional videos and tutorials. We also have a gallery of photos and videos from our classes and events, which provides a great way for our students to stay connected and motivated.

Our History

Lancashire Shotokan Karate Academy was established in September 2010 by Sensei Richard Pavsic, who has a rich history in karate. Sensei Pavsic has represented Yugoslavia, Slovenia, and Great Britain at local, national, and international competitions, and has won numerous championships and awards throughout his career. He has also trained under Japanese Senseis Takashi Tokuhisa and Taiji Kase in Slovenia, and has a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to his students.
