Providing Exceptional Care for Your Pets and Farm Animals

Walsall Bereavement Support Service is a local charity that provides specialized bereavement support to Walsall residents of any age who have been bereaved. Our services are entirely free of charge, and we are proud to support individuals regardless of their relationship to the deceased, the cause of death, or the time that has passed since the loss.

Our passionate team of volunteers is trained to understand bereavement issues and offer compassionate support. We strive to create a safe, quiet, and peaceful environment where you can come to terms with your feelings and the circumstances surrounding your loss. Our facilities are located in Walsall town centre, near the bus station, making us easily accessible to those in need.

Our Services

We offer two primary services at WBSS: Let's Talk Adult Bereavement Support Service and THE SWING Children and Young People's Bereavement Service.

Let's Talk Adult Bereavement Support Service

Our Let's Talk service provides free support to adults within the Walsall Borough, including those who have been bereaved by suicide. This service includes a confidential helpline and email support. Our trained volunteers are here to listen and offer guidance, helping you navigate the challenging emotions and practical issues that often arise following a loss.

Children's Counselling Services

Our children's counselling services are designed to cater to the unique needs of grieving children. We provide age-appropriate support, helping young people process their emotions and develop coping strategies.

Accessing Our Services

Our facilities are open Monday through Friday, from 10:00 to 17:00. If you call us outside of these hours, you can leave a message with your contact details on our answering facility, and we will call you back when the office reopens. You can also reach us by email, and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Other Support Services

In addition to our bereavement support services, we also offer other forms of assistance for those in need. These include:

  • Guidance on understanding grief
  • Information on how to help a bereaved person or child
  • Suggestions for remembering loved ones
  • Assistance in finding support for financial and practical matters
  • Resources for social and activity groups

Supporting WBSS

As a charity, WBSS depends entirely on voluntary donations. We must raise over 100,000 each year to maintain our services, and we rely on the generosity of our supporters to ensure we can continue to help those in need. If you would like to donate or fundraise on our behalf, please visit our JustGiving page.
