Sykes Jewellers, an inspiring place to shop for all occasions including Christmas and beyond. Our story began in 1968 when Reginald Sykes C.M.B.H.I., after working for the Services Watch Company in Leicester for 40 years, decided to establish his own business. His passion for horology, coupled with his expertise, led to the creation of a jewellery and watch repair shop that quickly gained a reputation for excellence.
In 1978, I joined the business on a full-time basis after completing a 2-year full-time course in Horology and passing the British Horological Institute Examination at Graduate Level (Grad. B.H.I.). It was during this time that I developed my interest in clock repair and restoration, particularly antiques. In 2008, I obtained Member Status of the British Horological Institute (Member BHI).
My wife Caroline joined me in the business in 1990. With her background in the textile industry as a designer, Caroline brought her artistic flair to jewellery design and commissions, as well as running the busy retail side of the business. Together, we aim to give you a personal and friendly service.

- Watch Repairs: From battery replacements to complete overhauls, we can service and repair all types of watches. Our team can also fit new straps while you wait and adjust bracelets to fit your wrist perfectly.
- Clock Repairs: With my expertise in clock repair and restoration, we can repair and restore antique clocks to their former glory. We understand the sentimental value of these items and treat each one with the utmost care and attention.
- Jewellery and Watch Sales: We offer a wide range of gold and silver jewellery, watches, and gifts from leading brands such as Nomination, Couer de Lion, Elements Gold & Silver, Amore Argento, White Ice, Fred Bennett, Storm, and many more. We also offer a trade-in service for your unwanted gold, allowing you to exchange it for cash.

The reviewer was turned away when they tried to bring in a gold sovereign to be mounted, with the shop assistant silently closing the door in their faces. C. B. also gave the shop 1 star and reported feeling annoyed and disrespected by the shop assistant, who they felt was unhelpful and dismissive.
