"Hillcrest Care Home" - Your Home, Our Care, Where You Feel Welcome
Hillcrest Residential Care Home is a specialist provider of both residential and dementia care services. We take great pride in our ability to offer the highest standards of care in a friendly and homely environment, ensuring that all of our residents feel welcome and comfortable. We understand that the decision to place a loved one into care can be difficult, and we strive to make this process as smooth and stress-free as possible. We encourage prospective clients to visit us as many times as they wish before making a decision, and we take the time to explain our processes and answer any questions they may have.
Our staff are our most valuable asset. They are professionally qualified and receive regular training updates, but more than that, they are chosen for their caring and compassionate natures. Our residents are welcomed into the Hillcrest family and are treated with dignity and respect at all times. This is reflected in the high review scores we receive from our clients and the positive feedback we regularly receive.
Hillcrest is tastefully furnished and equipped with all the modern equipment required to meet the needs of our residents. We have three lounges, two dining rooms, a conservatory, a hair salon, and an attractive patio area where residents can safely enjoy fine weather. We have a varied programme of social activities designed both to stimulate and entertain, and we offer short-term respite and day care for those who are not quite ready to make the commitment to residential care.
Coronavirus Precautions
While we have eased many of our restrictions, we continue to ask visitors to be vigilant and take sensible precautions. We suggest telephoning in advance of a visit for up-to-date advice, and we ask that visitors do not enter the care home if they are feeling unwell, even if they have tested negative for COVID-19 and are fully vaccinated. Transmissible viruses such as flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and norovirus can be just as dangerous to care home residents as COVID-19. Therefore, if visitors have any symptoms that suggest other transmissible viruses and infections, such as cough, high temperature, diarrhoea, or vomiting, they should avoid the care home until at least 5 days after they feel better. We continue to ask visitors to wear masks in communal areas, sanitise their hands on entry, and use the temperature checker at the front door. Masks and sanitiser are of course available on request.
Residential Care
Hillcrest has a long tradition of providing quality residential care in Frodsham and the surrounding area. Our residents are well looked after, happy, and content, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our professionally trained care staff. We understand the importance of getting to know each resident as an individual and tailoring our care plans accordingly. We take the time to listen to residents' stories and understand their likes and dislikes, and we devise individually tailored plans of care that are discussed and agreed with them - or their close relatives. These plans are reviewed at least monthly to take into account changes in need over time.
Our person-centred care plans are detailed and not only document medical needs but provide a full picture of the individual and their preferences. We ensure that the food served to our residents caters for their changing needs, including specially designed crockery and cutlery to make mealtimes easier. We pride ourselves on our catering and our chefs devise appealing, nutritionally balanced menus featuring a range of home-cooked dishes to tempt any palate, with fresh produce supplied by local butchers and greengrocers. Individual preferences, tastes, and cultural requirements are taken into account, and we are always happy to source alternatives if a resident fancies something that is not on the menu. Residents are invited to decorate their room with small items of their own furniture and treasured belongings to make it feel more like home.
Dementia Care
At Hillcrest, the health and wellbeing of your loved one is our priority. We understand that those with dementia have unique needs and we are committed to meeting those needs with compassion, dignity, and respect. Our staff are specially trained in dementia care and are chosen for their ability to provide a warm and welcoming environment. We have a homely and secure environment that is tailored to the needs of those with dementia, and we have a range of activities and therapies designed to stimulate, engage, and entertain.
We understand that those with dementia may become confused or distressed at times, and we are committed to providing reassurance, support, and guidance. We work closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure that each resident receives the care and support they need, and we have a range of strategies in place to manage challenging behaviours. We recognise that those with dementia are individuals with unique personalities, histories, and experiences, and we are committed to getting to know each resident as a person.
