Hello and welcome to Nicola Croote Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision. You may be finding that life's challenges have left you feeling lost and struggling to cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, physical illness, or low self-esteem. Therapy can provide a safe and confidential space for you to openly discuss your struggles, without judgement, and work towards creating lasting change.
I am Nicola Croote, a BACP accredited and UKRCP registered counsellor/psychotherapist, qualified life coach, and clinical supervisor with over 25 years of experience in social care and therapy. I specialise in working with adults who are ready to make a commitment to themselves and create positive changes in their lives.
My career in social care began in 1996, where I worked in a children's home specialising in therapeutic work with children aged 5-12 who had suffered from abuse and neglect. I then moved to a family centre, working with families who were having difficulties with parenting. During this time, I completed my counselling training and entered the addictions field, where I worked with people suffering from drug and alcohol addictions. In 2005, I set up my private practice in West Norwood, London SE27, and have been practising there ever since. I also work for Mind in Brixton SW9 as a clinical supervisor.
Services Offered
I offer counselling and psychotherapy to adults who are seeking to change their lives in some way. My approach is person-centred, which means that I believe in your ability to find your own solutions and make positive changes in your life. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to be open and honest about your struggles, without judgement, so that we can work together to create lasting change.
I also offer clinical supervision to individuals and groups who are seeking to develop their therapeutic practice. I believe that supervision is a collaborative process, and I work with you to explore your client work, reflect on your practice, and develop your skills and knowledge.
In addition to counselling, psychotherapy, and supervision, I also offer online sessions for those who are unable to attend in person. While I highly recommend in-person sessions, I understand that this may not always be possible, and I am committed to providing flexible and accessible services.
Qualifications
I hold a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner Certificate (1995), a European Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (2002), a Foundation Certificate in Art Therapy (2007), a Person-Centred Art Therapy Skills Certificate (2009), a Diploma in Life Coaching (2012), a Diploma in Supervision (2016), a Certificate in Group Supervision (2019), a Certificate in Compassionate Inquiry (2021), and I am currently completing the Compassionate Inquiry Mentorship Programme (2023).
